A Special Call Meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Ocean Springs was called to order by Mayor Ainsworth at 5:00 p.m. on June 24, 2003, at City Hall in the City of Ocean Springs. Present were Aldermen Lloyd, McDonnell, Cody and Dalgo, City Attorney Oscar Jordan and City Clerk Adrienne Howell. Aldermen Jalanivich, Carvin and Gill were absent.

O’Keefe Cultural Center in the amount of $216,850.00, subject to full approval by the City Clerk and Mayor that there are no additional funds being allocated to the project other than what the Board has already committed to.

The City Attorney reported that he and the City Clerk had reviewed the request for funds by the Fort Maurepas Historical Commission for their 4th of July event. He stated that the funds classified under the broad scope of community promotions for bringing into favorable notice the assets and attributes of the City of Ocean Springs. They recommended a budget amendment of $3,000.00 to allow them to go forward with the event as previously approved by the Board.

Motion by Cody, seconded by McDonnell, to amend the FYE 2003 budget to transfer $3,000.00 from the ending cash balance to the community promotion account for the Fort Maurepas Historical Commission’s 4th of July event and to release the funds.
