RECESS MEETING OF MARCH 27, 2002

 

 

A Recess Meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Ocean Springs was called to order by Mayor Ainsworth at 6:00 p.m. on March 27, 2002, at City Hall in the City of Ocean Springs.  Present were Aldermen Jalanivich, Lloyd, Cody, Carvin and Dalgo, City Attorney Oscar Jordan and Deputy City Clerk Diane Northrop.  Alderman McDonnell was temporarily absent and Alderman Gill was absent.

 

Alderman Cody gave the Invocation.

 

Mayor Ainsworth led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Motion by Cody, seconded by Jalanivich, to go into Closed Session to discuss the necessity for an Executive Session.

ABSENT AND NOT VOTING Aldermen McDonnell and Gill

 

Motion by Cody, seconded by Carvin, that the Park Commission and Park Superintendent be asked to join in.

ABSENT AND NOT VOTING Aldermen McDonnell and Gill

 

Alderman McDonnell was present at this time.

 

Motion by Cody, seconded by Jalanivich, to go into Executive Session to discuss acquisition of property and potential litigation, and excuse the clerk.

VOTING NAY Aldermen Lloyd and Dalgo

ABSENT AND NOT VOTING Alderman Gill

 

The Deputy City Clerk announced to the audience that the Board had elected to go into Executive Session to discuss acquisition of property and potential litigation.

 

After approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes, the Executive Session ended.

 

Motion by Jalanivich, seconded by Carvin, to resume the Regular Session.

ABSENT AND NOT VOTING Alderman Gill

 

Motion by Jalanivich, seconded by Dalgo, to instruct the Park Commission to proceed with a plan for the Highway 57 project and the green-way in between the Highway 57 project and Gay-Lemon and report back to the Board so a plan of action can be formulated to meet our recreation needs.

Motion by Cody, seconded by Carvin, to go into Closed Session to determine the necessity for an Executive Session.

Motion by Jalanivich, seconded by Cody, to go into Executive Session to discuss personnel matters in Administration.

The Deputy City Clerk announced to the audience that the Board had elected to go into Executive Session to discuss personnel matters in Administration.

 

After approximately 35 minutes the Executive Session ended.

 

Motion by Dalgo, seconded by Cody, to resume the Regular Session.
