A Special Call Meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Ocean Springs was called to order by Mayor Ainsworth at 6:30 p.m. on January 10, 2000, at City Hall in the City of Ocean Springs. Present were Aldermen Jalanivich, Garrard, Cody and Cosper, City Attorney Oscar Jordan and City Clerk Adrienne Howell. Alderman McDonnell was temporarily absent and Alderman Gill was absent.

Mayor Ainsworth read aloud the following Special Call:

Motion by Cody, seconded by Jalanivich, to go into Closed Session to determine the necessity for an Executive Session.

ABSENT AND NOT VOTING Aldermen McDonnell and Gill

Motion by Garrard, seconded by Jalanivich, to go into Executive Session to discuss annexation and excuse the City Clerk.

VOTING AYE ALL

VOTING NAY NONE

ABSENT AND NOT VOTING Aldermen McDonnell and Gill

The City Clerk announced to the audience that the Board had elected to go into Executive Session to discuss annexation.

Alderman McDonnell was present at this time and joined the Executive Session.

After approximately 30 minutes, the Executive Session ended and the following motion was made:

Motion by Jalanivich, seconded by Cosper, to resume the Regular Session.

ABSENT AND NOT VOTING Alderman Gill

Motion by Jalanivich, seconded by Garrard, to back out of the Gautier Annexation opposition as long as they stay in the boundaries as agreed: east of Highway 57 to Old Spanish Trail, east to Old Shell Landing, taking into Old Shell Landing to Graveline Bayou.

Motion by Garrard, seconded by Jalanivich, to adjourn.
