RECESS MEETING OF DECEMBER 14, 2000
A Recess Meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Ocean Springs was called to order by Mayor Ainsworth at 6:00 p.m. on December 14, 2000, at City Hall in the City of Ocean Springs. Present were Aldermen Jalanivich, Garrard, McDonnell, Cody, Cosper and Gill, City Attorney Oscar Jordan and City Clerk Adrienne Howell. Alderman Denyer was absent.
Alderman Cody gave the Invocation.
Mayor Ainsworth led the Pledge of Allegiance.
At this time Sheriff Mike Byrd presented Detective Louis Miller with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Distinguished Service Award. He recognized Det. Miller for his assistance in a homicide investigation which led to the location of the body and the arrest of the suspect.

Asst. Fire Chief Ed Twilbeck introduced Firefighter David Fisher, who recently completed the State Fire Academy.

Motion by McDonnell, seconded by Cody, to approve the request of Billy Kirkpatrick for connection of city water and sewer facilities to Lot 3, Block A, Colonial Estates Subdivision and authorize the Public Works Director to proceed with the project at Mr. Kirkpatrick’s expense.
