A Special Call Meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Ocean Springs was called to order by Mayor Ainsworth at 11:00 a.m. on September 25, 2001, at City Hall in the City of Ocean Springs. Present were Aldermen Jalanivich, Lloyd, Carvin, Dalgo and Gill, City Attorney Oscar Jordan and City Clerk Adrienne Howell. Aldermen McDonnell and Cody were absent.

Mayor Ainsworth read aloud the following Special Call:

The following ordinance was presented to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen for their consideration. The City Clerk advised the Board that an increase in the City’s water rates was necessary mainly due to the ongoing $4.5 million water system improvements program. It was noted that the last water rate increase was in September of 1995.

ORDINANCE NO. 10-2001

AN ORDINANCE BEING AN AMENDMENT TO

ORDINANCE NO. 2-1955, AND THE AMENDMENT

THERETO ADOPTED FEBRUARY 26, 1980, THE

AMENDMENT THERETO ADOPTED SEPTEMBER

4, 1984, AND THE AMENDMENT THERETO ADOPTED

SEPTEMBER 19, 1995, BEING AN AMENDMENT

PRESCRIBING THE NEW CHARGES FOR WATER

SERVICES BY THE CITY OF OCEAN SPRINGS, MISSISSIPPI

Motion by Dalgo, seconded by Carvin, to adopt the above and foregoing ordinance.

(YMCA Contract Amendment)

Motion by Lloyd, seconded by Gill, to amend the current contract with the YMCA to reduce the monthly contract payment from $2,000.00 to $1,000.00, effective October 1, 2001.
