A Special Call Meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Ocean Springs was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Danny Jalanivich at 5:30 p.m. on June 28, 2001, at City Hall in the City of Ocean Springs. Present were Aldermen Garrard, Cody, Cosper, Denyer and Gill, City Attorney Oscar Jordan and City Clerk Adrienne Howell. Mayor Ainsworth was temporarily absent and Alderman McDonnell was absent.

Mayor Pro Tem Jalanivich read aloud the following Special Call:

The City Clerk was asked to explain why this meeting was called. She stated for the record that she felt the current Board should be responsible for amendments to the current budget. The incoming Board is allowed one budget amendment from July 1, 2001 to September 30, 2001, and this amendment will give them the opportunity to have a good budget to begin their term.

Mayor Ainsworth was present at this time. Mayor Pro Tem Jalanivich relinquished the chair to Mayor Ainsworth and voted on all matters as indicated.

(Amended Budget FYE 2001)

Motion by Cody, seconded by Denyer, to approve the above and foregoing Amended Budget for FYE 2001 as presented by the City Clerk with one addendum - to allow for payment of $20,828.00 for engineering services on the Government St. project (Bills Ave. to Pine Dr.).

Motion by Cody, seconded by Jalanivich, to authorize the Police Chief to purchase three new vehicles as allowed in the budget amendment to be paid from Fund 005 (Tobacco Fund).

Motion by Cody, seconded by Jalanivich, to adopt the above and foregoing Order and authorize its publication for the items that exceed 10% of the original adopted budget.
